Dawn Wentar Henry

Dawn’s experience in healthcare spans more than 30 years and has been driven by a desire to promote quality care for all, regardless of borders or circumstances.

She has experience in both clinical roles, as a speech pathologist and brain injury case manager, as well as in management roles, in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and residential facilities.

Dawn’s commitment to excellence extends beyond her organizations. As an administrative and program CARF surveyor, she’s conducted national and international surveys of rehabilitation facilities in various settings and specialty areas.  In addition, she has helped healthcare facilities in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, and the US achieve accreditation, fostering continuous improvement across various specialties. Her passion for quality care was further ignited by her experience as a caregiver, fueling her belief that accreditation should be a catalyst for positive change and continuous improvement because, most importantly, it matters for the people we serve and their support systems.

She holds Master’s degrees in Communicative Disorders, Health Administration, & Business Administration. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Illinois since 2000 and has facilitated a Brain Injury Support Group for more than 20 years.

Dawn enjoys exploring the world, immersing herself in nature, and spending quality time with her friends, dogs, and husband…not necessarily in that order.
